Default Newest weapon for the war on terrorism...chili pepper!!

Completely serious.

Quote:
After conducting tests, the military has decided to use the thumb-sized "bhut jolokia," or "ghost chili," to make tear gas-like hand grenades to immobilize suspects, defense officials said Tuesday.

It has more than 1,000,000 Scoville units, the scientific measurement of a chili's spiciness. Classic Tabasco sauce ranges from 2,500 to 5,000 Scoville units, while jalapeno peppers measure anywhere from 2,500 to 8,000.

"This is definitely going to be an effective nontoxic weapon because its pungent smell can choke terrorists and force them out of their hide-outs," R. B. Srivastava, the director of the Life Sciences Department at the New Delhi headquarters of the DRDO said

Sounds crazy, but it's completely sensical. Seems like a super-charged version of the pepper spray we all know and love, especially on nachos.

I wish I had chili pepper grenades at home. I find traditional ways of dispensing hot sauce just aren't efficient enough.

Can't see why that wouldn't work. Mace and bear spray are derived from peppers.

Why would they bother with non lethal weapons.

Why not throw a bunch of normal grenades in and kill them

Unless their plan is to force them from their hiding spots the gun them down while they flee. Ahhh, good thinking India.

Someone doesn't watch enough 24.

You need 'em alive.

This is basically a bear spray grenade. Pretty bad-ass.

Sometimes, if say they are in a cave, it's got enough shelter to protect them from conventional weapons.
