You probably don't know who Chris Morris is. If that is indeed the case, you must remedy this tragedy as soon as possible by somehow managing to find and watch as much of his work as you possibly can. A familiarity with British society and culture will help, but is not particularly necessary.
Having given us his brilliant musings on drugs, sex, crime, decline in morality, and pedophilia (this last one caused quite the furor in the UK, and remains, as far as I'm concerned, one of the best half-hours ever written for television. You may watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7jVnrfoZD8), Morris now, of course, tackles jihadists.
Moreover, he didn't write the thing alone, he wrote it with the geniuses behind much of Peep Show, The Thick of It, and that show's movie spinoff In the Loop.
I would be quite shocked if this isn't one of the best movies to come out this year. The trailer is, IMO, outrageously funny, but I expect the film itself to have greater intelligence, depth, and emotion. If not, then it's still almost certainly going to be a damned good farce. And it's about time someone tackled the subject properly.
