Default Gibson Varitone Switch

Hey CP guitar-junkies,

I have a Gibson Blueshawk and the varitone switch broke on it a while ago. They don't make these guitars anymore and I've tried ebay, kijiji, gibson, axe, guitarworks and none of them seem to have any. Anyone know where i can find one?

looks like this..

thanks for any info!

Maybe try get ahold of Gibson? Either way, that's a beauty of a guitar man.

E-bay

Outside of that, I can't find much information so you may have to contact Gibson.... from what I've found you may have to find a Licensed Gibson Repairman to get it done .... seen listed roughly $150

I don't know anything about his one.... but THD may make a replacement, maybe worth looking around into and maybe shooting them an email about to know for sure
Link

Sorry if I'm not much help but hopefully a couple more tires for you kick till you find what you need

Or maybe you could take it to an electronics repair shop? If just the switch is acting screwy maybe something just needs to be re-soldered? Might be a cheaper option if you're comfortable with tearing your guitar apart.

You could always try digging up the schematics for it, hitting up a place like Active Electronics or MRO electronics to get the parts, and diy it if anything is obviously out of whack

If not you could always take it to a tech, but no doubt they'd take to to the bank for a job like this one.

Does the bypass position still work? You could just leave it as is if worst comes to worst

well its actually not there. Like the switch broke off a while ago and I lost it so I actually need the replacement. I didnt use it a whole lot so it didnt really matter at the time but i've been thinking about selling it.

I was going to say take it to a guitar specialist who can fix it, but if your missing it...I think your SOL.

I agree with those who said to contact Gibson, or go onto the Gibson/any guitar forum.
