Pretty crazy to watch these people do this. I watched a show a couple of years ago on the races. It's drunken behavior at its best.

Bob Blumer from The Food Network did it...I think last year? Training for the event he hurt his knee and while he tried running the event he didn't do so well. Ended up having a knee operation I believe. There was also some Japanese media dude who was in the same race. That guy won the heat they were both in but ended up breaking his leg when he hit the bottom.

It's too bad popularity of an event ends up actually killing it. You'd think they'd be able to control the crowds so they were far enough away from the rolling participants. It's too bad for the region because it's probably a big money maker.

Didn't they do this on Amazing Race a couple of seasons ago? Crazy stuff.

They fought the cheese and the cheese won?

It seems like a shame it had to be canceled. I mean, its a patently ######ed event, but its their patently ######ed event...

I'm kind of assuming that if 200 year old cheese can run on it's own you wouldn't want to catch it. It might be kinda ripe

Understandable. I don't know about anybody else, but if I see some cheese rolling down a hill 100 miles an hour, I'd be reeeeeally tempted to chase it down.
