Got a Wii.. now what?
I can't say wii sports is very impressive, so to the Wii people out there on CP, what now? What are some of the Wii games that are must haves? Is anyone else like me ... they pick up a wii and think... this is stupid...?

ALL ABOARD!

Tiger Woods golf is fun.
Beyond that though I haven't found too many games that are replayable for an extended period of time.

Wii Sports is only fun in a group of people.
Super Mario Galaxy is fun and challenging, as is the new Super Mario Bros. game.
Lego Star Wars is fun.
Rock Band.

The Wii is only fun once, at Christmas time with the family. Other than that it is completely useless.

New Super Mario Bros, Smash Bros, Punch out, Mario Kart (Gc version was better though, IMO), Zelda.
Any of the exclusive Nintendo titles, really.

Yeah if you got a Wii because you are a gamer, the you got the wrong console for the most part.. there are good games for the Wii, just not that many of them.
That's a good idea, rent some of the usual suspects and decide.

It's actually set for a strong few months of actual gaming, Monster Hunter 3, Mario Galaxy 2, and Metroid Other M all out before June.
If you're interested in the Legend of Zelda series AT ALL too it's a good idea to hold onto it. They'll be unveiling the new Wii installment of that series at E3 in May, likely for a release later this year.

Mario Cart Wii.
Also, if you are interested in using your Wii for other non-standard uses like internet use, playing media files (both video and audio), or playing old ROM games from NES/SNES/N64/ etc you can install Wii Homebrew for free and have access to all this stuff.

Now go buy a real console like the PS3 or Xbox
Try that F1 game, supposedly it's pretty fun. I'm not really into those types of games though. Although... super smash brothers is probably the best game out there. It's always playing at parties and what not.

I agree that if you have an xbox or ps3 the wii is just going to sit. I find it good with groups and for kids I think its great. Any of the Mario games, zelda, punchout, tiger woods and wii sports resort are worthwhile. Maybe try the new endless ocean game, its very relaxing.

I sold mine, but my Recommendation is to try out the virtual console. It was almost good enough to keep me from selling it, but not quite enough. For actuall wii games Mario galaxy was my favorite. I didn't finish it, but from what I played it was cool.

I played with Wii with the family two years ago during the holidays. It's been collecting dust ever since then

Looks like the Wii is getting a bit of a bum rap so far, IMO. It's not a system aimed at hardcore gamers, it's what Nintendo said it was going to be when it came out; a system that everyone can play. If you're looking for serious solo gaming action, it's the wrong system. Where it really shines is in a group setting, I think it's the best for party games. You can have pretty much anyone come in the door, and they'll be able to play a good chunk of the games that are out there in a couple minutes, even if they're a non-gamer. The age range of people who I've played with is almost 70 years, and everyone's enjoyed it. It also gets a fair bit of play with the girlfriend. Some of the games seem pretty silly, but can still be quite a bit of fun. The virtual console and WiiWare offerings can also be worth checking out.
Personal favorites for 2 or more:
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Mario Party 8
Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree
Lego Star Wars
WiiWare:
World of Goo
Tetris Party
Defend Your Castle
Bomberman Blast
Having said all that, I don't find it as compelling by myself, and I usually pull out the PS3. Of course, it's all personal too. It really depends on what kind of games you're into, if multiplayer matters to you, and if so, what kind of group it is.

After having the wii for a short time and playing some of the 'top rated titles' I have go say I dont much care for it as a console to keep me occupied while it's just me playing. On the other hand, it seems like a great thing to have while people are over. I think I mya just get a few fun multiplayer games for 360 instead of spending 300 dollars on a wii + 2 new controllers and nunchuks to keep friends interested the rare time i have 2+ ppl over at once
