Default Crowfoot LRT Station opens June 15th

So the new station opens tomorrow. Might want to check the Calgary transit webpage as some routes have been altered/cancelled.

Wow, its finally open. I could have used that when I lived in Rocky Ridge 9 years ago! Is there designated parking there for c-train use? Man Crowfoot was such as mess when I moved away last year with all the construction and whatnot, is it gonna get worse or better congestion wise?

The Crowfoot station has something like 600 or so stalls. I was planning on using this when it opened, but the parking gouging killed it for me. I'll gladly pay a premium to avoid the **** show that is Calgary Transit.

Should be chaos tomorrow morning.

Thanks for the correction, I obviously haven't been paying attention very closely.

I went to the grand opening yesterday. I think the inside is pretty fugly and poorly laid out. (compared to Dalhousie)

Oh well, I guess I'm not going there to hang out.

1300 stalls and 1200 will be empty due to our city council and $3 a day parking.

Not a chance. I suspect this lot will fill up every day by about 8:00. Brentwood is going to be pretty much empty though and Dalhousie probably won't fill up anymore.

Brentwood's been pretty much empty since the day they put the fees in.

back from the dead thread. hoping someone has the info...

my wife is starting work downtown next week and needs to start taking the LRT...we are in the NW and can take either the Crowfoot or Dalhousie trains...if she wanted to park and ride, what time does each station's parking get filled by?

She was hoping to be able to arrive at the c-train station between 7:00 and 7:30 - ideas on when each get full and which station she would have a better shot?

Thanks in advance CP!!

You can easily get parking at Crowfoot at 7:30. The west lot has never filled up by then in the last year.
As a backup, Brentwood is open all day.

Dalhousie is rarely full either all day. hasn't been since the parking charge came on as well as crowfoot opening.

Not sure about when they fill up nowadays, but one thing you should note is that Dalhousie Station's Park and Ride is a bit of a pain to get to from eastbound Crowchild Trail, since you have to travel through the shopping area at a low speed to reach the Park N' Ride. There is a right-in/right-out to the parking area from eastbound Crowchild Trail though.

Not sure which community you live in, but I would consider using Brentwood Station myself since it sounds like your wife would be doubling back on herself (i.e. travelling in the reverse direction from downtown) to use Crowfoot Station, and as I said, Dalhousie Station's Park and Ride can be a bit of a pain access-wise. Plus, as I understand it, Brentwood Station's Park N' Ride isn't as busy as those two.

Thanks guys.... Totally appreciate the quick response. Would suck to have to deal with the stress of getting to work on time for the first day and finding the either of the lots full

Have you looked into feeder buses, or is that not an option? You would save some money.
