Default How Long is YYC Security Wait for International Flights Now?

Just curious as am leaving for the Dominican Republic on Sunday, is it still crazy wait times, or has the furor over the X-mas "attack" died down, and we are back to 2hrs before flight is good enough?

Default Wait times

Kinda depends on what time you're leaving and how many flights are going out, I work there and go through security (I cut the line) but it never seems like the wait is more than 45 minutes. Most days I go through it seems it would take about 15 minutes if I didn't cut the line, but overall the hysteria has definitely calmed down. So with 2 hours you would be laughing.

I just got back from Las Vegas last night. We left Thursday evening around 6:30. For our departure we had to wait about 20-25 minutes in the Customs line, and another 30 or so for security. On arrival this morning at 12:30 am, we had to wait about 15 minutes in customs.

It's definitely not crazy though. If you get to the airport 3 hours before you flight leaves, you'll have lots of time to sit around and have a drink / coffee. 2 Hours before your flight leaves should still get you through without being pressed for time, but I don't like leaving things up to chance. It seems customs and security all use one line for outbound flights, so if there were 5 or 6 flights leaving at similar times, you could be waiting a lot longer.

I haven't flown since Christmas, but I seem to have good luck when I do. I never have to wait in lineups. I get there 2 hours before flight, go through customs and security in a relatively decent time. The only waiting is for the boarding announcement but at least you can sit and relax or take a short stroll. Waiting in line sucks.

Do you have to go through the US customs and security when you are going to the Dominican or Mexico? I can't remember.

Yeah if it's through the states it's completely different, but most other countries you go through the same security as going to Winnipeg or other domestic flights because you go through customs on the other side.
