Potential glitch preventing me from posting at work?

I've been unable to post at work over the past week or two... everytime I type a message and submit I get an error back saying that 'the message I've entered is too short, must be at least two characters long'. My messages have been full length however.

What's up with that? Is it a glitch or has my work somehow sabotaged my ability to write on (but not read) CP?

I've seen it before with the enhanced editor, in your User CP go to edit options and at the bottom you should be able to change the editor away from the WYSIWYG editor and it should work. You could then try changing it back (or clearing your cache etc) to see if you can get it working again.

the problem i have with CP at work is that sometimes it's completely normal, but other times a lot of things are missing (for example right now i can't see the quote buttons for any posts, or edit buttons for any of my posts). when it's like this the formatting for new posts or replies is also completely bonkers, like right now i have to enter actual HTML line breaks (br) to start a new paragraph, as if i just hit enter a few times it won't register when i hit post. it also breaks the formatting buttons at the top, i can see the bold, italic, etc buttons but pressing them does nothing (though entering the UBB code manually still works)

i've blamed it so far on my work's locked down internet filter, since CP works fine from home

Yeah that could be, all the images and javascript and CSS files are located on a completely different server, and if your work internet connection blocks those or (sounds more likely) has connection problems to those servers it'll be very weird and variable.

yep that's it. weird, if i type in the image host (http://cpf374.lg1x8z.simplecdn.net) into the browser i get the filter block message, though the simplecdn.net domain itself isn't blocked. and it isn't always blocked, sometimes the forums load just fine. our work filter is quite erratic though in what it will and won't block so not really a surprise

It's on my list of things to do someday to change that from that weird URL to cdn.calgarypuck.com or something, maybe that would help.
