Default This is Canada's team... hah

Before you rip, read.

Stevie Y assembled this team competing for the gold medal, with skilled players from all across various NHL teams. Fans everywhere rejoiced as they realized that their favourite players would be playing for the great country we call Canada.

Now fast forward 2 and a half months.

We have Canuck fans calling out Iginla for only showing up when he feels like it. And we have Flames fans Hoping Luongo gets bullozed, goes down for the season and gives up 5 goals.

IS this what it's come down to?

The Olympics are meant to UNITE the country as one, almost like a family, we are meant to stand by OUR team though the good times and the BAD. we win and lose as a team.

I understand that WE canadians are passionate hockey, our our respective NHL teams, and sometimes WE care more about individuals then we care about the Team.

All im asking is for this ONE GOLD MEDAL GAME, put your hate for the VAncouver Canucks, and Luongo aside. I'll put my dislike for Iginla and the Flames aside. Come Monday morning at 12:00 AM you can start throwing darts at your luongo poster and calling me names, and I won't blink an eye, why, cause you ill i'll do the same to you

Thats all, enjoy the third period everyone,

GO IGGY GO
GO LUONGO GO

GO CANADA GO!!!!

Either way, Kesler is a total asswipe.

On this day I'd love for Iginla to be able to hit the net, generate chances and bury a puck or two.

As an Flames fan from the US, I can't root against Iginla, but I sure can root against Luongo. I'll be happy with any result in this game, but every time I hear the LOUUUUUUs, it pushes me a little more in the direction of the US.

If you really stand by that after this game fine I respect that and I'll agree with that when he's not on the nucks

Show me a Flames fan on here that is cheering for Canada that is hoping for Luongo to completely crumble under the pressure.

I have seen several fans concerned that it may happen - but none hoping that it will happen.

I was rooting for the US, but I couldn't be happier with any other result than Iginla to Crosby. That was beautiful. Congratulations Canada.

I thought they were saying Loooooob.

Anyways, as much as I hate the Flames and Canucks, during this tourney Im a fan of anyone that puts on that red and white jersey. So proud of this team right now.

As I mentioned before, the Olympics is a parallel universe that has nothing to do with the NHL. We suspend reality and cheer for our countries for two weeks.

The very second that the Crosby winning goal crossed the line, Luongo became a boob again.

This is strange, given that most Canuck fans I know have enormous respect for Iggy. They may hate the Flames, but we recognize Iggy as a great player and a class act. It sounded to me that, aside from Luuuu! and Sid, he had the loudest cheers at the medal ceremonies today.

Sure there are kids who'll talk trash about Iginla, but they're doing so to get a rise out of Flames fans, not because they actually believe what they're saying. The only real knock against him that I've heard is that he fights with a face shield.

He only leaves the shield on if there's no time to get it off. He's absolutely Superb!!!! Always gracious and well spoken, he gives others alot of credit, and he would never say he hated Americans.

I guess not, his mother's American born isn't she. Come to think of it, I wonder why the Yanks didn't try to scoop him up years ago?

I'm not one of the "Iggy fights with his shield" grousers, though I've heard it enough times. The other thing that Canuck fans remember about Iggy (aside from his play against us) is the respect he showed Trevor Linden in his last game.

Hope he wins a Cup one day.

I cheered for them all (on Team Canada) regardless of what NHL team they play for. I draw the line at "LOOOOOUUUUUUU" though. I'll never utter that "cheer", ever.
