Default FS: Archos 605 and DVR Station, TV SOLD

Some fall cleaning, so we have at least two things for sale:

First, an Archos 605 80GB media player, touch screen with WIFI.

Specs and details here:
http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B000...0DWATT20PMJ04S

Only used 5 times in the past year we've had it...so excellent condition. Huge 4.3" touch screen. Plays mp3's, movies. Has internet browser to be used with the wifi.

Also included is the DVR station, which was a $100 accessory. It connects to the TV,and then you can record directly onto the Archos. Also comes with remote.

Still have manuals, all cables of course and original packaging for both. The Archos has a nice padded protective sleeve.

$210 obo for the package.

TV now Sold - Thanks to Red Sky.

Im interested in the Archos sounds interesting. Did you use it for dvr how did it work for you? Is it pretty simple to set up as a media server?

I have a 605, the 160gb version.

The dock does allow for recording right off the TV.

The UI isn't without it's quirks but it works fine. The thing I like most about mine is I can load it up with music, movies, and any files I need and head off on a trip. I then have a small device which I can check email on, some surfing, and through the dock hook up my camera/card reader and dump pictures to it.

Like any multifunction device, there are single purpose devices which might do the job better, but the advantage is you have one hard drive sized device to carry everything around. Currently I have my entre mp3 collection, at least a dozen movies, countless pictures, a bunch of pdf books, and a few important files loaded on mine.
