Default Listen to Music Online?

Pandora doesn't work, Grooveshark is kinda not that good, AOL radio got shut down in Canada, and....well, I don't know where else to look.

I would prefer something that gives you a choice of what kind of music you want to listen too.

I have a slower internet connection so I'd prefer to not be loading videos all the time.

Try Hypem.com

It's a pretty neat set-up...it puts up whatever songs are being blogged about most and that kinda stuff.

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

I would recommend songza.com, it's a pretty simplistic interface and I quite enjoy it.

Not sure if you have to be a Shaw subscriber or
not but you have nothing to lose.
Sorry turns out you do.
Never mind.

I dunno. It plays alright for about a half hour than it quits. SOmetimes the songs won't load.

Is there some way to create a radio station by genre or something? Pick 'old country' and have it play songs like that for me.

I'm not sure what's available in Canada, but I've had good experiences with Pandora, Slacker, Last.fm and Lala in the States.

I've also had good success with the aforementioned Grooveshark.

There's also a listing of Canadian radio stations that stream their broadcasts online, including CBC Radio and it's affiliates.

Thanks for the other ideas, guys... I'll keep Shoutcast, Live365 and Songza in mind in the future.

You can listen to many radio stations through iTunes.

I directly go to:

www.woxy.com

www.3wk.com

I think you can make your own playlists at:

http://radio3.cbc.ca/

Well, if I'm going to use a proxy, I'd just listen to Pandora. But it screws up my work to be logged into a proxy and getting a different WAN address than my own.

Songza doesn't work.

Using Shoutcast right now.

Grooveshark has a great service, but they seriously need to put some playlists of specific genres together. Big playlists. Similar to what Pandora has.

DI.fm might have some of your musical tastes, started as a trance radio but they expanded into a whole bunch of channels.

Looooveee last.fm, but the free radio got shut down in Canada. Still use it for artist suggestions though.
