I like the sounds of these lines. Let's take it to the Germans!

I actually posted earlier on CDC that I would like to see Staal/Crosby/Iginla together. So I am excited to see what they can do.

Been posted in a couple threads already but a central discussion could be good.

I would rather have seen Heatly with Crosby and Iggy but these lines are FAR better than what Babcock has iced previously.

Don't break up the SJ line. Marleau will go back to the form that had him stripped of his "A" and who was trade fodder a couple years ago.
Heatley will go back to his useless Ottawa form. Thornton will go to his Boston/SJ playoff play.

Chemistry, remember? Just ask Brent Seabrook.

After the first period Iggy will be filling water bottles, Crosby will be on gate duty and Luo will be swapped with Bordeur despite allowing 0 goals on all of 5 shots and Canada being up 4-0.

Nash is back with Getzlaf finally. He only LIT it up the last time they played.

Staal is going to be huge for Iggy and Crosby as he can drive to the net hard and win a lot of puck battles down low.

4th line looks like Richards-Morrow-Toews-Bergeron then. Too bad because Toews > Perry.

Awesome news, indeed.

Having said that, of course, hopefully Iggy scores within the first 10 seconds of his first shift... or else he'll be back on the bench.

Not sure if I like Staal on that line because he has been as bad if not worse than any forward so far this tournament. Perhaps the change will force him to take a shot when he is in the slot alone with a clear shot on goal.

If anything this should stop the whining for a bit about Iginla, which makes the change a great move whether it works on the ice or not.

Getzlaf, Nash and Heatley were dominant when together in the WHC so perhaps with Perry those two can get it going again.

This. I want Iginla to get out there and score another hattrick.

I think I'll die if Canada loses to Germany.

this is a good change I think.....for all the talk about finding a winger to have chemistry with Crosby and Nash, I don't actually think the two of them were having much chemistry with eachother

What did Crosby do to garner time on the 4th line?

I think that Crosby and Nash's playing styles have proven to clash in the tournament. Both players are very demanding of the puck and try to carry it through the neutral zone, but it seems like Crosby is much less effective when he is not the guy who gets the puck (that is not to say he is bad as the second guy in, but he is so much greater of a threat with the puck than without it).

I wonder how much thought the coaches gave to reuniting the Nash-Getzlaf-Heatley line? Maybe they are concerned with just how ineffective Joe Thornton can actually be without those two out there.

I'd put a Morrow-Thornton-Perry line together and play them sparingly, with a Marleau-Richards-Toews line acting as the third unit.

How bad does adding Bergeron to this team look now?
