Default Car Auctions in Calgary

I've looked at a few car auction sites in Calgary and wanted to know if anyone here has had any experience with any of them when selling a car?

my fiancee sold her car at Regal several months ago. it went for the asking price on the first auction. i'd recommend them if you want to get rid of some junk that is still driveable.

not sure how good it is for still efficient cars, though. selling privately might be a better idea.

my only advise would be price it correctly. not too high, not too low. Regal takes 15 percent, I believe. Might be less, might be more.

We took our old Jetta to Graham Auctions a few weeks ago to be sold - we didn't look at any other places because we're familiar with Graham and just wanted the car GONE. They take a 10% commission, minimum $50. They auction on Saturdays - if the car is in by 9:30 or 10 am that day (can't remember the time exactly), the car goes in for auction that afternoon.

We got $750 for our Jetta - sure we probably could have gotten more if we sold privately, but we didn't want the hassle. You can put a reserve on the car if you wish.

My dad goes to the one just outside Calgary (probably in the cities limits, but it is the farest NE I have gone), and he sold his truck for good value, and bought some stuff for good value.

Bought my truck at Michener Allen auctions. Got a good deal and will look there again for my next one. They prefer to have a big sale once a month and go early as thats when the best deals go through.
I went to the presale viewings the day before and made a list of trucks I was interested in, noted their VIN's and did a quick Carfax report to check for major stuff.
you can sign out keys to inspect a little closer.

I didn't care for Regal but they have regular sales and the prices are decent if you are good at on the spot inspections.

Regal also has a return policy for large problems with purchases over a few Gs IIRC.
