Default LOTR - independent feature

Quote:
Award winning unofficial prequel to The Lord of the Rings dramatising Aragorn & Gandalf's long search for Gollum. This 40 minute film, made by fans for fans is based on the appendices of LOTR and was painstakingly shot on a low budget as a homage to Peter Jackson's trilogy and the writing of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Quote:
A scattered people, the descendents of storied sea kings of the ancient West, struggle to survive in a lonely wilderness as a dark force relentlessly bends its will toward their destruction. Yet amidst these valiant, desperate people, hope remains. A royal house endures unbroken from father to son.

This 70 minute original drama is set in the time before the War of the Ring and tells the story of the Dúnedain, the Rangers of the North, before the return of the King. Inspired by only a couple of paragraphs written by Tolkien in the appendices of the Lord of the Rings we follow Arathorn and Gilraen, the parents of Aragorn, from their first meeting through a turbulent time in their people's history.
IMO the first one was extremely well done, planning on watching the 2nd one tomorrow.

A bit higher production value but I couldn't help but think of this

I hate to be overly critical but I watched up until about the 12 minute mark and couldn't stop laughing. I am a huge LOTR fan.. but I just can't stand bad acting.

Wow that was epic. I wish the star wars fans would do something like this for Timothy Zahn's novels. I would PAY for that.

Watched the first one which was pretty good. The second one has already been removed from youtube.

If fan fiction was routinely this good I'd probably pay attention to a lot more of it.

I'm not a fan of LOTR really, but I didn't find the acting horribly unwatchable.
