Open letter to announcers using the word "GUTSY"
Please, please buy a thesaurus and learn a few alternate adjectives. Tonight one of you boneheads described a short track speed skaters kicking motion at the finish line as "GUTSY".
Other examples include:
She came back to race after she crashed... that was gutsy.
He went for the quad... very gutsy.
She lost race and finished last, but it was a gutsy effort.
Look at how she stuck her foot out at the finish line... young and gutsy.
He stood on the podium to get a medal after a, gutsy effort.
Gutsy performance, Gutsy effort, Gutsy attitude, Gutsy Gutsy Gutsy friiiking Gutsy!!!!!!!!!!!! Stop.
This is the most over used frikiking adjective in the history of the Olympics. Get a thesaurus...please.
Suggestions: Brave, Strong, Elite, Robust, Uninhibited, Powerful, Courageous, Tenatious, Spirited, Valiant, Bold... among about 200 other bloody words that can be used.

It's not different then Kevin Weekes calling every play a heads up play even if it's just clearing the puck on a penalty kill.

In my opinion it's way worse than weekes' "heads up play" or what's-his-name's "some kinda save". I counted on Thursday or Friday and she said it 10 times in an hour. I wasn't even paying full attention (I was at work). I like Doan, but she's gotta find a new way to call a race. She's new-ish, she'll get it.
