I will, but I wont go early. They only have 4 locations in Calgary and I am not in any rush to wait hours to get some shot I may or may not need.

I'm not at all concerned about H1N1 and won't be getting the shot.

The wait isn't so bad though because you can take a number, get an idea on how long the wait will be and then go hang out at Boston Pizza or something. You don't have to physically wait in line the whole time.

in a normal year no, but this year yes. I'd rather rely on my tried-and-true flu remedy (steam and booze), but with the wife pregnant it's better safe than sorry.

Everyone else is getting it so why by theory do I need it?
I don't plan on traveling or meeting a whole bunch of unknown people (again they have the shot).

I'm iffy on gettting it. I haven't had a flu shot in years and have been relatively healthy. I'm going to just wait and see if the cases continue to be mild other than for those with pre-existing medical conditions.

I will definitely be getting it. I might not go the first couple of days if they are getting slammed by people, but I will try to get in during the first week.

I'm getting it mostly because of others - virtually all of my friends are pregnant or have little ones and I don't want to infect them. I hope to be pregnant soon myself, so I'd like to protect myself. I'm also in the higher risk group (women in their 30's). Hopefully my work will offer it - they've cancelled the seasonal flu vax clinic for this year, but no ETA has been given for H1N1.

That is called herd immunity, but it doesn't work when people like yourself don't get the shot. Also the shot does not provide 100% immunity. If you are at all concerned about getting the flu the flu vaccine is far and away the best way to avoid getting it (unless you stay in your house for the next month or so don't allow visitors)

I will not be getting one. I don't get a normal flu shot so I don't understand why a flu that is not as deadly as the normal influenza requires all this attention.

Well considering it is hockey season HAHA.
But no seriously i would rather get the real virus and then my body will learn how to defeat it from here on out.

My company was very courteous and exposed me to it earlier this year, so I should be good.

No way, no how.
I respect people's right to choose what goes into their body and if you feel the shot is the best thing, then good for you. I don't agree with how people are getting their point acrossed though. Scare tactics and hype is a poor way to prove any point.

I'm really unsure what I will do. I think I should because I work at a university and am in a building with 2 lecture theaters so there are always students around coughing, sneezing, not washing their hands, etc... and contaminating everything. Not to mention I usually have at least a handful of our students in each day to ask things. But on the other hand I've never gotten a flu shot before and haven't died yet and if I did go for a flu shot I'd likely pick up some sort of germ while waiting around for it.

I will get it, I'd rather get the dead virus so my body learns how to defeat it from here on out without actually getting very sick or sick at all.
