Default Good Place To Get A Digital Camera Fixed?

Fellow CPers, I need your help. Well, it's actually for my friend. I need to know where would be a good place to get a digital camera fixed in Calgary that's not too expensive?

Thanks!

BTW, I wasn't sure if this should go in the Tech Forum or not.

If it's a lower end P&S, the cost to fix might be equal or even greater than just buying a new camera.

The Camera Store or Vistek reps should be able to help you. You can probably call and get a quote or at least a better idea of costs/time of repair.

What kind and what's wrong?

As Regulator says, if it's anything less than an expensive SLR, might as well toss is and buy another.

In my 3 second google search I found this:

Yes, the thread is from 2003 but Phototech still exists.

What is the problem? Sometimes you can fix things yourself. My Cannon had a lens restart error that wouldn't allow the lens to close at all. Senal said to send it away on the off chance they could fix it would cost $200. Before I did that, I googled the problem and after much surfing found a forum with people talking about applying light pressure around the lens and in a minute it popped back into place and was been working perfectly ever since!

I had a broken screen that was going to be over $200 to fix (could have bought the same camera new for that price as it was a few years old) but I found good instructions on the web and a screen on ebay for $40. It took some patience, but it worked for a good year and a half until I broke the camera again.
