Looking forward to this game. I've heard a few people have negative views because it really doesn't do the source material justice from a theme point of view, but it does look pretty good.

Looks like an updated version of God of War. Even the weapon and moves are similar.
Not that that is a bad thing. GoW ruled!
But yeah, basically taking popular mythology (sorry for offending anyone) and making it epic for the gaming system. Bosses a few stories tall, movie type battles, crazy environments.
P.S. Is GoW III ever going to be released? It's funny that I just got my PS3 years after it's been released and the two games I wanted it for aren't even out yet. (GoW 3 and FF13) Both have been pushed back many times. There were rumblings for both of them near the original PS3 launch I believe.

It's a complete clone of God of War. Not in the sense that they're similar games, but every last little detail is exactly the same (green/blue chests for health/mana, same "soul" upgrade system, controls are almost identical right down to stuff like "hold down strong attack button to lift enemies").
I'm sure it's a half decent game, but it's pretty odd to see a huge gaming company like EA blatantly rip off a game. It's understandable for some small devs who are just doing whatever they can to sell a few copies, but I expect more from EA.
From what I've heard, the game is offensive just for the sake of being offensive.

^^^ Ahhh see, without looking at anything other than the trailer I was getting that feeling.
Sucks that it is THAT close. I'm sure they could have come up with some interesting ideas re: upgrades and health/mana etc.
Everything being exactly the same could make it a little boring.

Ja, I've read that too, the question was a little more rhetorical as it's been pushed back so many times and could possibly be again. I just meant to express my excitement for it's release...

Worth a rental only. It's ok, cool premise to start, really good at the start introducing characters etc. It gets repetitive pretty quickly. Still fun for a hack and slash, the boss fights are pretty slick, upgrading moves etc is pretty simple and happens quickly.
If you had to chose between this and Darksiders, get Darksiders. After I was initially a bit skeptical that game got pretty awesome.
