Default Eye Pain...

So I know you guys are not doctors but maybe someones experienced this before, I'm wondering if I should book a doctors appointment.

When I woke up a few minutes ago I noticed that my left eye hurt. It feels very tender to touch and when I close my eyes it also gives me that tender feeling.

There is no other symptoms, just tenderness to touch and closing eye (so baically sensetive to pressure). The eye is NOT red, no puss of gunk, no noticeable difference from the other eye what so ever.

I'm also a little worried cause I have a astigmatism and my left eye is also the weaker one.

I have felt this before but it usually goes away pretty quick and it's never to this extent. This already is feeling a little better but it still hurts quite a bit...

Any tips?

Listen to your mother when she told you if you don't stop it you'll go blind. That's what's happening!

Do you wear contacts? That happened to me a couple months ago. My eyes were extremely sore and red all the time. I found out it was because the brand of lenses I was wearing led to a silicon buildup in my eye. I changed brands and now it is gone.

Nope, don't wear any sort of glasses or contacts and there's no redness at all. It looks like it is slowly going away... we'll see.

(bahahaha word play. awesome)

It could be a cyst or sty on your eyelid. I had one a few weeks ago and I just popped it and moved on.

Go see a doctor if it continues. It's probably not a big deal, but it's better safe than sorry IMO.

I get that when I wear contacts for too long. I realize you don't wear them, I'm just saying that you may have gotten a minor infection from something getting in there.

does it feel like a giant zit in your eyelid?

eye stye, I get them once in awhile. You can get anti-biotics or polysporin, and they go away in a few days.

I had one of those when I was a kid. It was a massive sty on my lower eyelid.

The doctor decided to Lance the damn thing, so not only was I a 7 year old kid getting a needle rammed into my eye. but it mush have blown the puss like a volcano because the doctor was slightly grossed out.

I of course felt a mixture of fear and awe.

It's most likely a stye. It will either come to a head a few days to a week or it will get reabsorbed. I don't think you're supposed to pop the stye if it comes to a head but I always do anyway.
