Shaw knocking on doors

Does anyone know if Shaw is going door to door? Someone knocked on my door (when I wasn't home) asking questions regarding Shaw Cable. I always assume these things are scams, but I was not home to tell the guy to get lost. My wife told him to come back later.

Pretty common action to be honest.. I worked for Starchoice and did this kind of thing in rural areas. Its a great way of attracting business and buyers actually get way better deals than regular customers

I don't even answer the door anymore. At best it is going to be a salesperson. At worst, home invasion, robber, or scammer. In five years of living where we do, only once has someone I actually know come over un-announced.

Only solicitors, religious nuts etc. go to my front door, so I never answer that. Anyone I know goes to the back door.

I'd rather they knock on my door once a year to tell me about deals and try to sell me something than calling me 50 times every evening.

Phone calls are a lot easier to deal with:

"Hey what you are talking about sounds really interesting, can you wait just a second though, there's someone at the door" I then put the phone down and waste their time.
