Default Is digitalized a word?

I was just wondering, it is being thrown around here at work with some people saying it isn't a word because it isn't in a dictionary.

Just wondering if anyone else there is using the word. I don't want to look like an arse if I use it outside of my work environment.

It's only a word in the linguistic sense. It is not proper English, no. "Digitized" might work.

Just like "orientated". It's ORIENTED.

It's not a word because he/she made it up, but it just became part of his/her lexicon

"Orientate" means "to turn to the east."
