I liked the band well before they became popular...before "Whats My Name again?" Not because they became popular either (I will never buy that as a reason to stop liking a band unless their music changed), I honestly thought their music was better with CD's like Dude Ranch. Thats too bad they broke up.

I like Blink 182. There last albumn in particular had a much different sound. I was looking forward to hearing where they were going to take it from there.

Blink was never as bad as Good Charlotte and bands like them are. Apples and oranges in my mind, but I could see why other people would think that. Blink was pop-punk and they always said that.

Good Pop-punk

Blink 182
Green Day
Sum 41

Bad Pop-Punk

Good Charlotte
Simple Plan

Their getting pretty close now. Everytime I hear that 'I miss you ' song I want to scoop my eyeballs out with a ice cream spoon... Put 182 on the second list and it would be closer to the truth IMO.

Punk in of itself is a far cry from what is used to be. But as long as you're talking pop-punk I would say I do enjoy Sum 41 and Green Day (was Green Day ever pop punk or were the more pop alternative rock? Bah, all the genres run together nowadays...). At least Sum 41 seems to sing about issues more. Blink 182 schitck stopped being funny a long time ago and the lead singer's voice has become so whiny. The boys up north here will have to redefine themselves a bit if they don't want to become stale, but they're quite a bit better then Blink 182. They still have fire in their songs and performances.

I agree with Van.
Blink is like a guilty pleasure for me, only beacuse others make me feel guilty for liking them...they're harmless fun...I don't know why people are so hard on them?I also thought the most recent album was a step forward. It impressed me. Man I'll probably get flames for this.

That sucks... I really liked them.

As for the comparison to Good Charlotte I agree that its apples and oranges.

Oh well... it happens to all bands eventually, I'm glad for the music they made together.

dont worry travis the drummer has plenty of other bands to play in. Also, i used to be a pretty big fan but i cant say ive been one lately. I will admit though they did put on a pretty good show.

Never got to see them live, but I think that's because I didn't like them after Dude Ranch. Dude Ranch is a hell of a CD IMO, and they never repeated that kind of quality. All their recent CDs were very much run-of-the-mill pop-punk. I'll agree though, their newest release sounded different at least.

Good Charlotte sucks. I hope they break up.

I think "Blink 182 broke up" was equivalent to "A deal has been reached in principle".

False news, they are still together.
