The question now is TOTF............which did you like better..........the 'old' Vivian, or the 'new' Vivian?
The older one came off as a bit more of a bag, but he newer one seemed like a cheezier actress.
I'd take the old one..........especially since I usually hate when TV shows switch actors after the start of a show.

Definately old. She had more spunk.
I was watching today and I was wondering the same thing.
I am also someone who hates recasting.
Three's company is another favourite of mine.
BUT, I would take the Ropers over Mr. Firley any day.

Gotta disagree with you there...........Furley rocked! He had the nastiest pants for 70's TV..........and that's saying something. And nobody could freak out like Furley......he had awesome facial expressions.
Plus, I played Furley in a school play back in the day...........so I'm a little biased.

One of the best one liners was on yesterday............
Uncle Phil walks into the kitchen wearing red pants & shirt and Will says
"Hey Kool-Aid"

Seriously???
Fresh Prince??
I am a guy that watches a ton of TV and have started to watch some shows that I never gave a chance to in the past but I cannot spend any time watching this show.
It is not funny at all and half the time I can't even undesrtand what it is that I am suppossed to be laughing at. Most shows whether I find funny or not at least I can see what it is that I should find funny but this show I just can't find it at all.
Is it funny because he talks differently than white people??

The old Vivian for sure & yeah Mr Firly too, they should've kept them both on together i mean [Ropers & Firly] loved the way Stan would like right at the camera after saying something under his breath about Helen.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree!!!
Stanley and Helen were more entertaining then Jack, Janet and Chrissy, IMO.
I also didnt like the addition of Terry. Nothing against her, I am just a fan of original actors/actresses and original characters......

LOL, I stole that one from the show and use it every once in a while myself
Uncle Phil ruled.
I think what made TFPOBA work was the fish out of water premise, the grounded nature of the family with Uncle Phil as an anchor (and I do mean anchor ), and the fact that Will Smith is funnier than hell on the show.

John Ritter's Celebrity Secrets:
"I once had a heated argument with Don Knotts. He looked me dead in the eye and said that I wasn't fit to shine Andy Griffith's shoes. I stayed up all night thinking about that and I said to myself, 'My God he's right.' The next day, I quit my job as Andy Griffith's shoe shiner."
"Three's Company was originally called Three Companies about a trio of pharmaceutical companies. It was ten times funnier."
"Once during a taping there was an actor who kept blowing his lines. It happened again and again. Finally Norman Fell came out- he wasn't even in that scene. But Norman came out and you know what he did? He killed the guy with a hammer."

I guess it's just a type of comedy you don't understand that. But it basically consists o one-liners and hilarious actions (carlton dancing).
and no it's not because "black" people talk different than "white" people

I agree............I wasn't a big fan of Terry either. Seemed like she was trying too hard to be funny, where as I thought Crissy (Suzanne Somers) really played the dumb blonde bit very well. Plus, she was hotter.
I also thought Larry should have gotten some more screen time............I thought his character was pretty hilarious.

I understand comedy and I said that I don't understand this as comedy.
Really this comment doesn't make sense to me:
Its a type of comedy and you don't understand that.
I do understand that. What I am asking is what is the comedy especially if it isn't black people say funny stuff compared to white people?? isn't that the whole premise of the show?
I understand how that is funny. But then that is my question is that is what is so funny about the show?
