Default Bigger butts lead to longer life?

According to multiple studies so says the Calgary Herald.

Quote:
People with fat in their thighs and backsides may live longer because the fat traps harmful fatty particles and actively secretes helpful compounds, according to a report published on Tuesday.

Many studies have shown that people who accumulate fat around the abdomen and stomach are more likely to die of heart disease and other causes than bottom-heavy people, but the reasons are not clear.

And since this thread is useless without pics, allow me to introduce the soon-to-be world's oldest human, Jennifer Lopez!

Does anyone else feel like there are studies to show too many things now a days?

"Studies show that such and such may lead to a longer life". When in reality a study could also show that the same thing may lead to a shorter life.

It seems that "X may lead to a longer life" is the new "statistics can be skewed to prove anything".

Many studies have shown that people who visit CDC are more likely to die of heart disease and other causes than people who visit Calgary Puck, but the reasons are not clear.

This may be because several different mechanisms are involved, said Reggie Dunlop of Calgary.

Nothing like a good ol' 90's rap video to spruce up a topic at CP. *Golf clap* Definitely thought of it, and was going to come and throw the Sir Mix A Lot into the topic if it wasn't already, but alas, beaten to the punch.
