Default I need a kiosk

Seeing as there's always somebody on CP that can comment on almost any topic, I figured I'd post my issue and see if anybody has dealt with this in the past.

I've been tasked with populating the entrance of our office building with a kiosk. It's main purpose will be as an electronic notice board so people can see events taking place in the building in addition to welcoming guests.

Doesn't need to be touch screen, so I'm thinking just a standard 42" lcd screen in an enclosure hooked up to a little computer (I'm leaning towards Mac mini). I'll probably just run a webpage on it full screen so I can edit it remotely. To avoid burn in I was thinking of including some kind of widget (stock ticker or daily weather) and a banner that rotates images every 30 seconds.

Does anybody have any idea where I could find an enclosure? I found a company that will do it, but as they are in the UK the shipping costs are obviously somewhat frightening.

Does anybody have any great idea or potential problem that I'm missing?

I'm not sure what your budget is but I have used these guys before and they have some great products.

Your idea is simple which is good. Make sure to do manual updates for everything or your beautiful display will be interrupted with a disclaimer asking if you want to update... very minor but looks a little unprofessional.

Also a webpage has one flaw, it requires the internet. If for some reason the internet isn't working, either is your kiosk.

Actually you could just run it locally. You could have an on and off directory with the files duplicated and edit the files in the off dir and create an Automator action to copy the files to the on and refresh the page.
