Manny Fernandez is headed to Florida.

GM Penney has traded Fernandez and two 2nds to Florida in exchange for Vesa Toskala and $2mill.

"Toskala might be struggling right now but at least he is playing in the NHL" says Penney. "He is a better goalie and can help us in our playoff push."

There has been a lot of speculation that Toskala's ratings will dramatically decrease but this will not happen. The CPHL looks at the past two years so although we expect his rating to take a hit, we don't see it completely bottoming out.

"We don't like giving up two 2nds but we felt it was worth it to complete this transaction. We have no intention of buying out Toskala because it is not worth it. He is an NHL goaltender and is playing. Fernandez is not."
