I agree. For the first off-season in a long time I am very excited about the Stamps.
I used to be hard core into the Stamps but the US expansion turned me off a bit - turning me into a casual fan. Couple that with the crap going on with the organization for the last few years and my interest was much less.
However, they are making all the right moves right now. I'm also a big fan of Barkers so having him back with the organization was a big part of getting me back on side.
Now just sign Henry, and trade the 1st overall pick for some good assets and we will be in grand shape!

Yes it was, and they better make the playoffs. Missing the playoffs four years in a row when 6 teams out of 9 make it is sad.

It'll be nice if we can get that swagger back. You know, the feeling that we are supposed to win, not hoping we can win.
I'm beginning to have very good feelings about this team. It's almost a Wally Feel Good type of feeling...

I actually got a couple of calls from clients yesterday to make sure I remember them when we share our company's seats next season. Last year, I couldn't give the tickets away with a Gold brick attached to them.

Do you mean better as in 4-13-1 or are you looking at 9-9 or 11-7 type of year!

5-13
Nah, 10-8 seems realistic. But it's easy to make predictions...and really hard to get them right.
hell, 12-6 sounds right

I was really excited the year that Barker was coach/GM.
He had brought in Conell, McGarity, PHILLIPS, Sanchez, Maximuous(sp?) and a few others.
I really thought that team was gonna crush the league, but things just didnt work out.
I like the team this year though.
I really have a lot of optimisim.

^ a big shame that Connell, McGarity and Phillips didn't pan out for us. Well, McGarity did for one year but fizzled out. Phillips = gong show everywhere he turns up. Glad to see we were the last team to give him a chance I thought Sanchez was pretty good - too bad he bolted back to MTL(right?).
Demetrious Maxie! Went to the NFL for part of '04 but Dunigan signed him long term last year when he came back. Great move for our front 7

Yesterday was indeed a fantastic day for a Stamps fan. Even though I am first a Bomber fan, Calgary is a definite 1a. In a few years they may be #1. Not trying to be a bandwagoner, but the transition takes time. I've been here 7 1/2 years now and it took until the Flames hooked Daryl Sutter before I became a Flames fan first. I said at the end of last season, I could see Calgary in the Grey Cup in 2005. Maybe even winning it. Now I am almost certain of it. Calgary is going to surprise a LOT of teams next season.

I'm not jumping on the GC bandwagon. But I do know we'll be a lot better than we have been the past 3 years. We'll challenge for a playoff berth. We may even make it!!

Very preliminary assessment but...
I definately think the Stamps will make the playoffs this year. Depending on where Burris goes (it sounds like it's down to the Riders and Stamps on this one) I think the Stamps and Riders will battle for 2nd. If Burris resigns with Sask, I think Sask will battle BC for first but BC is definately the class of the west IMO. Sure would be nice to see the Esks miss the playoffs (although, they always always field a good team)!

This is the most exciting off-season since '92. Even if the Stamps don't make the playoffs, it's nice to see the ownership do something other than oil the cash register.....................and bring their kid in to qb.

Can't wait for the season. BC might not be as good this year. Remember we did steal the O-cordinator. The staff and managment that is being assembled here is outstanding to say the least. Just trounce Edmonton and make the play-offs. I am getting very, very sick of listening to all the Eskimo crap and not being able to say anything back.
