Album Suggestions...
I am VERY picking when it comes to listening to music. I really only listen to a handful of bands over and over and over and over and over and over.
Please help broaden my listening horizon by suggesting something that I might like.
I listen to the following religiously:
Tool
Radiohead
Deftones
Kyuss
Smashing Pumpkins
Queens of the Stone Age
System of a down
What am I missing? Is there something I just neeeed to hear??
Thanks!

Porcupine Tree
Dream Theater
Frankly, Pocupine Tree's Stupid Dream album is probably one of my favorite of all time. It may be too light for your taste, but I highly recommend it anyways.

Never heard of 'em.
Miranda Lambert, Revolution, is showing up on a lot of top 10 lists for 2009. Review at Rolling Stone here: http://www.rollingstone.com/reviews/...947/revolution

"Gotta Get A Gun" is one of the funnier things you'll hear. She's probably too much head-banging rock for a traditional audience but has some great traditional stuff too.

I will check out Porcupine Tree but have never been much of a fan of Dream Theater.

Only crisis, the rest of their stuff is a lil much for me.
Atreyu - Lead Sails and Paper Anchor would be my suggestion.

Well I see you like Kyuss and QOTSA so may I suggest some other Josh Homme goodness with Eagles of Death Metal and Them Crooked Vultures.

I was going to suggest Tool.
I would definitely check out:
A Perfect Circle - Mer de Noms
If you like that then check out
Thirteenth Step
Also I highly recommend:
Chevelle - Wonder What's Next
Vena Sera
and their new one Sci-Fi Crimes

Eagles of Death Metal I find very lightweight..I dunno, I tried hard, but couldn't get into them. Not nearly the same as QOTSA or TCV.
I'm working my way through Kyuss now, having not paid them much attention back in the day but realizing now I should have.

I love every single band you listened so I hope the suggestions I give you are up your alley. I think you need to mine the 90s and a bit of the 80s for the sound you are looking for.
Alice in Chains
Type O Negative
Nine Inch Nails
The Smiths
Bad Religion
Collective Soul
Nirvana
Faith No More
There's lots more I think you'd like. You just gotta find one song you dig then listen to that band for a day and see if you get hooked.

This is the tricky part. I have listened to all those bands, some I like and some I don't so much. I am just trying to find newer bands who would fit the mold of the type of music I like. I do like the new AIC album, very good IMO. I like "The Fragile" by NIN and listen to that a lot, only becuase TOOL thinks it is one of the best albums ever made..hah. It is my favorite.

These are what I listen too, some of them I don't think you'll like, haha.
Jack's Mannequin
Copeland
Waterproof Blonde
Dropkick Murphys
The Dupe
Eighteen Visions
High Standards (japanese Punk Band)
I do listen to more, but these are my favorites.

What did you think of Puscifer? I actually really liked those 5 or 6 new ones he just put out.
