Default Weird Letter in the mail today...........Somebody wants to buy my house.
I am looking for CPs advice on a weird letter I received in the mail today. First of all it is addressed to my wife's maiden name and it says:

Hi

My name is Barb Horvath, and I would like to buy your house at: OUR ADDRESS

Please call me at 403-774-9537

Thanks,

Barb Horvath

Has anyone ever received a letter like this before. Does anyone know this Barb Horvath?

Get a number in your head what the house is worth, then add 70K and tell her thats what you'd sell it for, no dickering.

My parents used to get letters like that from realtors awhile ago, but not just random people. Does it have any type of company name on it, or just some random individual?

Anyways, a google search for 'I want to buy your house at' found this link:

From there I searched for 'Yellow Letters' which gave me...

So, it seems that the letter is part of a marketing campaign put on either by a realtor or a real estate investor. On the surface it seems legitimate.
