Ovechkin Moved

After taking offers for weeks, the Toronto Maple Leafs cut ties with one of the most dynamic players in the game.

Pending league approval, Alexander Ovechkin, and Brendan Morrison will join the San Jose Sharks after tomorrow night's games.

The Leafs will get Ryan Getzlaf, Filip Kuba, and Andrew Ladd in return.

Say what you want about Ovechkin, or Prototype's love fest for former Hitmen, we had to get back some of the depth that was lost in acquiring Ovie, and wish him all the best on the left coast.

More deals are being worked out as we speak, but nothing else to report at this time.

When moving AO you want to get a solid return and I think this is a good move for both sides. SJ gets AO, one of the best players in the game. Toronto gets Getzlaf who is a top centreman and a solid 2/3 winger in Ladd, plus Kubina who is decent.

Overall good move for both sides IMO.

I like this more from the Sharks perspective. Considering how much guys like AO/Crosby have been going for, he should have garnered at least Getzlaf + a blue chip prospect + a guy like Kubina or even better.

However the Leafs have stunk up the joint and needed a move so sim-wise this could prove to be very beneficial.
