I'm looking for my first laptop/notebook. I want something portable (around 12-13"), with good battery life and decent specs (higher res screen than 1024x600, HDMI port, better proc than Intel Atom, can handle HD video, etc).
I follow the tech industry pretty closely and the new lines of CULV (consumer ultra-low voltage) notebooks seem to hit the sweet spot between a netbook and a full fledged laptop.
I've been looking at either the
Acer Aspire Timeline 1810T-8968 or the
Asus UL20A-A1 because they are in the same price point (~$650).
The specs on the Acer are:
- Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium
- Intel® Core 2 Duo processor SU7300
- 4GB (2/2) DDR2 667 SDRAM
- 320GB SATA hard drive, 5400RPM
- 5-in-1 card reader
- 11.6" HD (1366 x 768) CineCrystal TFT display
- Integrated Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD
- 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN, gigabit LAN
- Webcam
- Bluetooth
- Up to 8 hour battery life
Just wondering if anyone owns either of these models or any CULV laptop and can speak to them. I'm hoping one of these goes on sale around xmas.
Thanks!
