He is gaining weight but man does this puking suck assSSSSSSSS.
Very common it starts to slow down around 6 months well for my son it did. He threw up after every feeding till than. My son is 10 1/2 months and is a tank. He was born at 7lbs and he's around 26lbs allready, hes somewhere in the 90th to 100th percentile for weight and height.

my 6 month old picked up a cold and gave it to the 2 year old.

It seems like they are mucas dispensers no matter how often I try to wipe their noses. It sucks. The other effect is that neither one will sleep for more than 2-3 hours at any point during the day or night.

I'm miserable. My wife is a virtual zombie.

I might start drinking again.

One morning my daughter was playing, she walked toward me and said "Dad I don't feel good" I knelt closer to look her in the eye, and BAM! She puked all over my face.
Now, I don't even remember how many times I have been puked on by my kids.

Just think of it as preparation for puking 18-year-old after that b'day

my 3 month old hasn't puked yet...definitely spit up a few times. I don't know, maybe he's got an iron stomach like his dad. Knock on wood.

My 15-month old came back from daycare puking for most of the night, but stopped before going to bed. The next night, my wife picked up the bug and was spewing out of both ends. It was something that went around the daycare in a hurry - I'm glad I avoided it. My wife was much worse off than the baby.

My first son started projectile vomitting when he was about two weeks old. He would eat, I'd start to change his diaper and he would just turn his head and out it flew, a good 6-8 feet. I talked to my pediatrician and found the miracle drops that we referred to as "the pink stuff."

I suspected the power behind his puking was air trapped in his tummy. So I gave him a full syringe of this lovely, bubble gum smelling stuff before AND after every feeding. It stopped the puking almost immediately. My husband thought I could be ODing the baby on this stuff and called the pediatrician who said it was impossible to OD on infant Mylicon drops. I say you give them a try, it was magic in a bottle for us.

We don't have puking, but we do apparently have recurring ear infections, which I must say are also pretty damn awesome. The baby won't stop crying, she's in pain and feverish but we can only give tylenol so many times in a day, and the only way she'll sleep AT ALL is attached to my boob.

No vasectomies here, though. We're gonna do this at least one more time.

Our little guy has projectile vomited twice, once on my mother's patio and the second time in a restaurant full of people. I had to sit back and watch until he was done, there is nothing you can do. It only smelled if you were at one of the tables adjacent to ours.

I can't be the only one who was bummed out that a thread called "Puking baby" started by Fotze wasn't just some horrible video or picture, right? Not what I was expecting. Hope your kiddo is ok.

Tip: If this is an issue, don't hold the baby over your head and have your mouth open at the same time.

browna found this out the hard way. He says that warm-curdled-milk-puke is the vilest tasting thing in the world.

That's absolutely effing disgusting. Why would you even say something like that? I actually gagged a bit when I read that.

No, not really, but my kids were bottle fed. I think its pretty common with breast fed babies to want to eat more frequently. You never really know how much they're getting. I would guess they would be used to frequent small feedings where my bottle fed babies got used to larger feedings so less frequent. I was able to get both of my kids on four ounce bottles pretty early on so we had about a four hour break between feedings. I also gave them an extra two ounces on their last bottle before bed and they slept through the night by the time they were two weeks old. If they ever woke up in the middle of the night I just cuddled them and rocked them back to sleep. But they never really needed to eat in the middle of the night.

Oh, you know what I just remembered? I had a friend who was breastfeeding and her baby had to be put on soy formula instead of breast milk. The puking stopped almost immediately.

Ohhh, come on now. There's grosser things. For example, my friend who ingested far, far too much scotch and Munchies mix a couple of New Year's ago and then proceeded to puke it up all over our guest room carpet and bed. That was way, WAY grosser than a little milk puke in the mouth.

Or, it's quite feasible to accidentally get baby poo in your mouth. But I guess that discussion would take us back to the age-old poo vs puke debate and which is grosser.

Fotze - have you tried Probiotics at all? We used it when our daughter was really gassy and uncomfortable in the first few weeks. Not much of a puker but it did seem to help the gas. We used BioGaia.

My first puked quite a bit, but our second is a dream. I don't think he has puked more than once or twice in 3 months, if that. I wore my daughters puke like a badge of honor, I think you should do the same.

In my opinion, puking is caused by over eating or gas or a combination of the 2. Both our kids used to want to nurse extra even after they were full because the sucking eased the pain of the gas. Make sure you burp often, use Ovol or some other anti gas medication, and if you suspect they are just nursing to ease gas pains try giving them a soother. If it still keeps them calm then it is just gas but if they complain once they realize there is no milk coming out then they are still hungry.

Edit: My wife adds that some babies are just puky and one day it will just stop. She says you can't really stop it other than burping more often, or changing nipple types if bottle feeding. My son will only nurse with Gerber bottles, but when he uses the Avent bottles which are supposedly designed to stop air from getting in, he gets major gas. My daughter was the other way around.

Oh, there are much grosser things. I was going to retell the story of the craziest mess my son ever made but I found the original post.

http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthr...25#post1633825

You can't even imagine what it looks like to have poop running down brand new furniture and freshly painted walls. Gross. I'd take milk vomit any day over that mess.

No way. I can handle person puke. But baby puke...that's a whole other area of nasty. Blecch.
