Default Buying fitted/slim fit dress shirts online

YA I know most people like to try their clothes on, but I enjoy buying clothes online because generally I can save a lot of money.

Stuff is over priced here in Saskatoon big time, so I shop online as much as possible. I know my sizes pretty good from experience.

But I do need some fitted dress shirts for work and I have yet to tackle this monster online. Wondering if anyone can suggest a few websites for me to look at? Something affordable is nice, Thomas Pink and Ralph Lauren are a bit above my head, while still great sites. Affordable for me would be in the $40-$70 range.

While I do enjoy fitted shirts, I am not a fan of Le Chateau or MEXX's style, I like it to be a bit more formal and less metrosexual. Calvin Klein shirts I really like, but I can't find them online for shopping in Canada.

Mainly I like my shirts to be a solid colour, white preferred. Any suggestions? I have been on google all morning and it is very tough to find a third party site that you can trust and will ship to Canada.

Not sure about online, but in that price range, I would actually go to H&M. They make surprisingly decent dress shirts and put good attention into the fit. Not sure if you have an H&M near you though. Even the Bay can work pretty good, Ben Sherman or Kenneth Cole slim fits both have a nice cut to them and are affordable, especially with the constant sales at the Bay. Zara is good too and should run you around $60-$70.
Le Chateau and Mexx are garbage, good call there. Stay away from cheep, shiny shirts.

Personally, I'd have to try on a shirt before buying it, or at least know the sizing I like for specific brands and cuts as they will all be the same. No 2 brands are the same, so just knowing your neck size and shoulder width isn't really enough to ensure good online luck.

Buy whatever you want that fits your neck/arms and then take it to a tailor to "bring it in".

keep you eyes open for sales at the Bay or Moores. Winners can also be a viable option - but ti is so hit and miss.

I wear a lot of Landsend.ca shirts. Their prices are in US dollars, but if ordered from the .ca site will include all shipping costs to Canada, taxes and duties (you can even collect air miles).

Their regular prices fit your budget, but especially in the Clearance section you can find good bargains.

Their 'Tailored Fit' is the slimmer fitting option and is as slim as my Brooks Brothers 'slims'. They won't be as narrow as the more fashion forward brands, but you won't get the blousyness of your typical ready to wear stuff.

~firebug (I rotate about 40 dress shirts with about 15 from Lands End)

Lots of good tips here guys thanks, good deals all around.

That Indochino site is really cool, if I had a few more bucks that Utility shirt is perfect for what I want. Might have to look at that later on, whats the quality like for the stuff you ordered from there?

I really like their pants as well.. actually everything on the site looks great.

Ben Sherman is a good shirt brand for taller/slimmer men. I know they ship to Canada via their website, but their stuff is out of your stated price range (I don't blame you).

I've read that you can sometimes find their stuff at a Winners/The Bay/Urban Outfitters, etc.

I often buy clothes from last year's line @ Nordstrom Rack down here in the States... I just cannot justify MSRP for a random shirt such as that. Not sure if there's anything similar in Canada (other than Winners).

I'll throw out a +1 for Maxwells...I have been using them for years... back when i lived in Toronto... there would literally be a few hour line to even get in the room... if stuff doesn't fit when you get it... you can take it to a local tailor free...that being said... Best value around for $60 or so each... they may even come to Sask ...not sure

My only alternative is to hit the outlets down in the States. People that pay regular price at Holts or Harry Rosen are fools... Hugo Boss outlets have all their shirts for usually $99US at the most... while the same shirts are $2bills + in Calgary... it doesn't take much for that to add up to make a trip to the outlets along the west coast whether it be Seattle, San Fran, Vegas, etc etc

I hate the Bay. They don't carry talls. At least any Bay I've been in. My damn monkey arms... Sigh...

I really like the stuff on that site as well. Only the main page works for me now, but wow, maybe i'll have to find a new job so I can buy and wear some of that stuff.

One of the perks on being a business partner with a gay dude (who has extensive experience in the fashion industry) is getting good fashion advice. Stereotype I know, but it's definitely true.

He pointed me towards Charles Tyrwhitt for affordable quality dress shirts. http://www.ctshirts.co.uk/.

These dress shirts are by far the best I've ever owned, they make you feel like you just stepped out of a tailors at Saville Row. They have great pattern/cut options and feel comfortable and of much higher quality than a lot of of more expensive shirts out there. And the good thing is you can often find them on sale online. I would definitely advise trying it out.

FYI, I would advise getting the slim-fit versions if you're not a heavy guy, as the normal ones tend to balloon a bit more (which personally I don't like).
