Default Problem with my AV receiver

I use an Onkyo TX-SR606 receiver for my tv room, but I'm having problems. I can watch TV just fine, but when I try to switch components, to either the Blu-ray player or the Xbox, it just says "No Signal" on the tv and it won't recognize either. It was briefly doing this when I tried to watch tv earlier and it somehow fixed itself. I still cannot use either of the other components though.

Does anyone know what the problem might be? I've gone through this manual several times now, especially the troubleshooting section, but I can't come up with anything.

The receiver probably realized your were a Canucks fan and purposely stopped working.

I'm anything but an expert in audio, but are you making sure to change the setting on the receiver to your digital output, whether it is coaxial or optical audio.

What exactly does that mean? The thing is, I set this up when I first got it exactly how it said in the manual, and it worked fine. It's just in the last couple days that it's somehow changed. I haven't even touched it.

Maybe I don't understand your problem. Do you have your Xbox and Blu Ray blugged in through your receiver? Are you having issues with not getting a video signal or not getting any audio?

There is a massive thread about this receiver on avsforum.com: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...26622&page=276

From what I can gather you are not alone in having issues with this receiver. Maybe you should look through the last 10 or so pages, but if you're still within the 2 year manufacturer warranty you may want to see if you can get it repaired/replaced.

Ya, everything is through my receiver. And then I just switch on the receiver which component I want to be using.

I'm not getting audio or video. It just says no signal.

It sounds like it may be a HDCP HDMI handshake problem. I'd try to do a reboot of your reciever ( pull the power cord) and if that don't work reboot the TV.

What does a "handshake problem" mean? This is the first I've ever heard of it.

And how do I reboot the tv?

HDMI has problems with some TVs connecting to some STBs, such as Shaw or Bell or audio receivers or other input devices. Some models worse than others. Some people, I've read, have had success by turning on the TV first or the input device.

Reboot the TV by pulling it's power plug.
