Tipping on a "hook up" (at a restaurant/bar)
I know we have had quite a few tipping threads, but i dont see this covered anywhere.
My question is "How do you tip when someone hooks you up"?. Meaning one of your friends works at an establishment (restaurant/bar), and hooks it up.
2 different scenarios.
A) Bartender. You order 4 shots and 4 drinks. Its one of your friends, so they say "$20" and you know they charge $6 per drink and per shot, so you should be paying $48. How much do you give them?
B) Your friends is shift leader lets say at Milestones. You go in for some appies and drinks. You have 4 appetizers, and 2 bottles of wine. She takes care of 2 appies, and 1 bottle of wine (takes them off the bill). So your bill comes out to be $65, instead of $130. Now keep in mind your friend is just managing the place, and whatever you tip will go the waitress/waiter. How much do you tip?
so my question is, how much do you tip and how do you come up with that number?

Tip whatever you would tip had it cost the original amount. Simple.

Either give them 12 eggs, or 1 whole chicken, unfeathered.

And here I thought hook up meant being set up with some gal in a bar or resturant.

I usually tip half of the difference, but depends on the situation. So if I order a bunch of drinks that are suppose to be $40 but my friend charges me $20 I'll give him/her $10.

"Slepted" sounds kind of kinky. Elaborate.

In the first case, you want to be generous, but you don't want to labour over it or it'll lose the spirit of the generosity; he didn't comp you so that you'd get out your calculator and give him a fair return. Tip based on roughly what the full cost would have been and then round up generously. A $10-$15 tip is between 20%-25%.
Same is true for the second scenario: tip based on the full amount, and then round up generously if the service is good. I'd probably end up at a $30 tip.

You have friends that are giving you free things, but their managers don't know about it, they are stealing. Therefore, you don't have to tip in dollars, keeping your mouth shut and your friends remaining employed is tip enough.

You gotta be kidding...right? So when your friends hook you up, your favor back to them is just keeping your mouth shut? Yikes, glad I don't know or hang out with you.

In situation A, is this going up to a bar and grabbing drinks?
or sitting in a pub and running a tab?
If the first - $5, if second $10
B)$15-$20
