Husbands and BF's everywhere - Rejoyce!
Oprah is ending her talk show. No more shall we be subject to the high priestess of females co-ercing our other halves with her cause du jour! As men we will reclaim the TV at 5:00 again!
CNN affiliate WLS in Chicago, Illinois, said the final show would air September 9, 2011.

Who cares? Not every chick likes Oprah. She could have packed it in years ago and I would not have cared. Maybe now people would stop trying to force her book club selections on me.
And don't get me started on The Hills. My sister in law made me watch an episode with her last Christmas, and I actually felt my brain turn off completely. It just hurt. I couldn't even make fun of them, I just felt horrible for womankind.

I'm still suffering from crappy green Shaklee soap products that the wife bought after watching some episode of the High Priestess. Soap should clean stuff dammit!

I'm so glad my spuse only likes to watch decorating and gardening shows. That I can live with. Daytime trash TV, no thanks!
(And yes, I do consider Oprah to fall largely within the Trash TV genre. In it's way it's as bad as Maury, or The View, etc.) How many women realy need to be told how to think by Oprah, it's f'n scary)

Not a day goes by when i'm in the gym and i'm forced to listen to the endless nattering amongst women about Oprah and what was on yesterday. Finaly some peace and quiet will be coming.

It will just be some other show that's probably worse than Oprah.

Oprah is pretty far down on the list of 'chick things' men should be worried about. Among the top of the list are:
-Twilight
-The Hills
-The Notebook
-Vampire Diaries

What "cause du jour" did you dislike?
As someone who has *never* watched Oprah, I don't get the Oprah-hate.
Dr. Phil on the other hand, I would strangle if I ever saw him in the street.....

I thought the same thing about Leno but he managed to pop up somewhere else. I suspect Oprah will too.

Guess where that show originated?
Sounds to me like Oprah saw the writing on the wall and decided to litter daytime TV with her little Oprah spawnlings before handing over the reigns.
