I don't think you need any extra antenna. Everyone I know who has the XM built into the stereo system has the typical antenna setup, you just have to pay for the service (or apparently take advantage of the free service).
I'll never go back to terrestrial radio, I haven't had to listen to Nickleback or any other junk in a year and I get a massive range of talk radio which makes any drive fly by.
