Default Driving from Winnipeg to South Florida

hey all,

Bought a car in Calgary for a client and i have to get it to Florida. I am having it shipped to Winnipeg and picking it up there Thursday to save a bit of the drive. Anyone done the drive down? any ideas on how long, good stopping points etc.

thanks
tim

What part of Florida? Only thing of use I can give is that the turnpike is a much quicker way to get from Orlando to Miami than the Interstate and worth the extra money in tolls.

Really i can get directions from Google

I know i can look at google etc car has GPS the getting there is easy.

I have done the trip down on the from NB a bunch of times and know where i like to stop, where i will get slowed down, what cities i should get off interstates to avoid going right through the middle, etc. Haven't done it from that part from the country before. Just wondering if anyone has any similar tips from driving from that end of the country.

thanks

Stop in Grand Forks to watch the Fighting Sioux play at Ralph Engelstad Arena. That arena will blow you away, nothing like it at the college level.

The West Acres mall in Fargo has the Roger Maris museum - a pretty extensive museum for a mall and kind of cool.

Mall of America is worth stopping in at Bloomington. Try to catch a Minnesota Wild game when you're there too (in Saint Paul) - the nicest rink in the NHL in my opinion. If you're there for a few days, go see the Golden Gophers. Amazing atmosphere.

Lots of cool things in Chicago. Millennium Park is really neat during the evening. Place to eat there, go to Gibson's Steakhouse. Best steak I've ever had.

That's as far as I've driven.

If you're stopping in North Dakota on a drive from Winnipeg to Florida you might need to work on your endurance.

Chicago is basically the coolest city ever made so i'd stop there if I were you. One time I drove from Philadelphia to Calgary.... epic... turns out this is a big continent. Loooooot-o-land. Should be quite the journey for you.
