Default Acromioclavicular Separation

Anyone ever have to deal with this? ( Seperated sholder)

Short story, I was biking on the path along the bow river, I was passing a pair of skateboaders on the narrow path by crowchild trail when she lost control of her board and launched it into my front spokes.

Needless to say I suffered a grade III seperation, when I flew over my handlebars and slammed into the payment ( Bike got ripped apart as well )

I've been reading that people have used KT Tape to help this heal properly. ( Kinesiology Therapeutic Tape )

I'm not liking the idea of leaving it alone since the gap is so great since I tore both the coracoclavicular ligaments and acromioclavicular ligaments completely, unlike in grade I or II when there is something there for support.

Anyone know where I can get some KT tape locally?

thx

Kin tape is awesome, especially if you have somebody who knows how to apply it. I don't know where you get it though. My wife orders her kin tape and acupuncture needles through a physio catalog. I'm assuming you haven't taken a course on how to properly apply it? You won't do yourself harm by just putting it on, but if you knew how to properly apply it you would help the healing much quicker.

Yep, but not as bad as the one you got. My acromioclavicular ligament was only partially torn. Hurt like a SOB though. Had to wear a sling for a couple of weeks and then had to get some physio.

Never had to use KT tape though.

You have my sympathies.

I separated my shoulder when I was younger (about 16 I would say). It was really painful, but it wasn't as bad as what you've done there. I also went the sling route and basically it just took time to heal.

I hope this goes well for you! It really isn't fun...

Beast is a tough son of a gun. No pain killers and wanted to go out that night.

He should sue the doctors for leaving a little white arrowhead in there.

No quote of heal time, sounds like a long road, but i heal fast....

I found some Rock Tape, same stuff as the KT tape different brand, I had my nephew tape the bone back down, while i pushed it into place that will wake up in the morning I tell ya!

I wasn't just going to let it heal with that huge gap, atleast my arm isn't numb anymore....
