anybody have some good ideas for a christening? i am not religious and have never been to one, yet i am the godfather. any help is greatly appreciated!
$100 canada savings bond or some other savings vehicle of your choice.
While practical and generous, I would suggest getting something that will have sentimental attachment. If the family is at all religous, they might appreciate it more than money for this sort of event.
I'd recommend some kind of medallion that the kid could wear when he gets older, or maybe something with an inscription.

they are not religious, but both come from a catholic background. i think they are doing this incase the kid decides he wants to be catholic.
You could get a nice hardcover book of bedtime stories or childrens poems and write a personal note to the child inside. Its something they'll get use of and its personal. IMO, a religious ceremony doesn't require a religious gift. Both of my kids got books from their Godparents that they still have.
