Default WTB: Guitar

Hey guys,

Thought I would post up here before pricing one out for my Xmas list.

Not looking for anything fancy, but not looking to spend a whole heck of a lot. Gonna try and do some self teaching, and if I catch the bug, maybe spring for some lessons in the future. It's always been in the back of my mind to be that guy who can just pull out a guitar and strum away.

Anyways, if you have one kicking around, something that would be good for a rookie to use, let me know. Not looking to spend a fortune. Hopefully around the $50 range. Not even if that's gonna get me anything either.

Feel free to post, or PM me.

Thanks!

Yamaha makes a good entry level acoustic guitar, I think its the F310. I think it
also comes in a pack, so you get a bag, extra strings, and capo (good if you play Dylan songs).
My first guitar cost me $20, but not sure where you can find one that cheap.

If you can afford it look at about 2-300 for a good beginner acoustic.

Anything you get for $50.00 will probably not be worth playing and used, probably would not have been taken care of much.

Something easier on the fingers will make playing / learning that more enjoyable.

Edit:

How about this one....

I have about 7 guitars around the house, might have a decent one you could have for $50, I'll go have a look.

Hmm, sorry I just found the one I was thinking of and while it's perfectly playable, I noticed the bridge was lifting off the body a little bit so I'm not sure you would want it.

But in regard to what everybody is saying, a $160 guitar is not a bad idea but there are $80 guitars that are decent out there these days (and not Esteban crap). Most of the tone is in the player, not the instrument. Good guitarists can make crap sound amazing.

I have guitars from $50 - $1600 value. I can't honestly say I can make them sound their worth aside from the cheaper ones
