Default Giant sea monster on the loose

Quote:
Concerns were raised after a 3m great white shark was found dead with two huge bites taken out of its body. Experts believe the bites were made by an even larger predatory fish.
Swimmers have been warned to stay out of the waters off Stradbroke Island, north of Brisbane.
"It certainly opened up my eyes. I mean the shark that was caught is a substantial shark in itself," Jeff Krause of Queensland Fisheries told the Sydney Daily Telegraph.
Surfers have reacted to the news of the shark attack with shock.
"Whatever attacked and took chunks out of this big shark must be massive," said Ashton Smith, 19. "I've heard about the big one that's lurking out there somewhere.
"We're all being very, very cautious."
I'm wondering if this might be the work of megalodon. It's suppose to be extinct...but out of all the creatures that supposedly went extinct, megalodon are high on the probability list.

It's funny to see "shark attack" put in a different context...

Great White Sharks can grow up to 6 m.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_white_shark

According to the Canadian Shark Research Centre, the largest accurately measured great white shark was a female caught in August 1988 at Prince Edward Island off the Canadian (North Atlantic) coast and measured 6.1 m (20 ft).

How do they measure the length of the shark? Do they include the tail as well? If so, then a 3m great white is about half the size of what it could reach.

Based on the image below (which is a 6m great white), a 3m would be half the size, and fit completely inside the Megalodon's jaws.

Wouldn't that 3m shark be dinner for say an 8-10m great white?

That photo looks photoshopped. Or there's just something not right about the water.

We know so little about whats in the ocean.
In my opinion a Megalodon would have done much more damage.

You might want to read this

http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/14-ex...e-rediscovered

It has 14 animals that were once though to be extinct that have been refound. Most of these animals are found on land, like I said before we know so little about whats in the ocean.

Heres some more info/sightings of the Megalodon
