Wild/Pens hook up for huge deal

- Sergei Kostitsyn

"The guy we wanted is Vlasic - he gives us the 2nd pairing blueliner that we've been trying to find since the start of the year. Paul is a tremendous young player as well who we think can be a consistent ppg player. Segei is a whiney little punk who will play for us this year and then likely rot in Russia."

Stastny and Perry are about even, Doan for Vlasic is pretty even, and the prospects are an even swap with the slight advantage to Pittsburgh because Kostitsyn is a whiner.

Goffie gets rid of his headaches within 24 hours of each other. But I do like the Wild getting the only defenceman in the deal.

Vlasic is a nice d-man to have as well; gets lots of minutes in SJ. Whenever you can get a young d-man rated high it's a good move.

Well it was obvious that I needed a shakeup as my team was not performing up to par. This was the third deal in a series of moves we hope will make us better. Doan was the key to this deal for us as he gives us a big bodied player who excels all around and will be very useful in all situations.

We are obviously weaker on the blueline, but we have a lot of guys who excel on the Defensive side of the game there and we feel as long as our forwards get the puck we can do some damage on the scoresheet as our top 9 is as talented as any in the league.
