Between Clowe and Morrow after 8 games they have a combined point total of 2. I wanted to make a change to try and find some sort of chemistry. Adding Kubina was pretty big for me, he is the only true 1st line d-man I have.

With this deal Detroit has handed the captaincy over to Mike Comrie. Comrie has been on this team forever and with his experience and how he handles himself on and off the ice made the decision a no brainer.

I would now like to add a top line center. Anyone could be had with the exception of Mr Comrie.

The 2nd goes to Pittsburgh and Frolov might head to KHL next summer. Factoring everything in.........I think it's a even deal.

Similar thoughts to what Neil has,

I might call Clowe and Bufuglien a wash, although being able to use Buffy at forward or D is pretty handy.

Other than that it's how I'd peg the deal too. The big risk here is Frolov and whether or not he hangs around the NHL after this season. Talented player, but a lot like Alexei Kovalev doesn't always want to show it. Whereas Morrow is a guy who brings it pretty much every night and maximizes what he has.

Pretty big deal overall though, should shake up both teams.
