GAME 15: Riders at STAMPS
My, oh my! How the mighty BUrris and his offense are struggling for the past 4 games already. We are not sure exactly what is going wrong with the offense and i am sure it is still puzzling to those people involved. As far as what I noticed in the past few games, it looks like Burris are having problem executing the play. He was either overthrowing or underthrowing the receivers. He is not running as much... forward I mean and we don't see a lot of fake handouts to Joffrey in the past 2 games. It looks like Burris is playing scared for some reason. Henry "Hank" Burris loves to run the ball forward whenever he sees something open. Henry "Frank" Burris just wants to stay in the pocket and whenever he has to run, he has to run backward trying to avoid the sack.
Some receivers are not helping either as they just tend to drop the ball or just give up on the ball. Some people are saying Burris is missing Rambo and Thelwell but I am not sure if that's an excuse anymore as the new guys been playing for a few weeks now. I think we definitely miss the blocking of Guard Jesse Newman. Tim O'Neill did a good job filling in for both Lazeo as centre and Newman as guard but he too went down last game. That means we see more of Godfrey Ellis. Ellis struggled all game vs Montreal.
Can the offense wake up against the Riders?
OFFENSE: Another bad game for Henry Burris vs the Als. It was mostly negatives for the offense last week except for Romby Bryant. He seems to start connecting with Burris and that's a good sign.
Reynolds didn't touch a lot of balls last game because Calgary were down early. The only positive thing for the Stamps in the past few games didn't get much chance to help out offensively.
DEFENSE: The defense tried so hard to help the Stamps win the game again but the Als offense are just too much. They were on the field way too much and it showed especially late in the first half and most of the second half. The Als offense gained so much yardage in both rushing and passing because they took advantage of the tired Stamps defense.
SPECIAL TEAM: Even the special teams were awful last game except for deAngelis who managed to score all of Stamps' points in the last few games already.
-------
The Stamps and the Riders are fighting for first place position on this game. Burris need to step up and play a lot better. The receivers has to try to get open and come back to the ball if necessary. Reynolds has to stay active all game meaning Stamps have to make him run the ball a lot earlier.
I might be going to the game courtesy of Joffrey Reynolds. He handed in 2 game tickets to my brother today for tomorrow's game.
GO STAMPS GO!!
More updates before game time.

Last time I saw the Riders 2 weeks in a row we won both. Last time was also first at Taylor field and then in Calgary the following week.
I saw the Riders last weekend and they won. Here's hoping the trend continues.

Flip... just to let you know everytime I go to Stamps' game, they win. That was including the Western Finals. Tickets were also given by Joffrey Reynolds. So, let's see who's streak is going to end? Your streak of Riders' winning everytime you go to the game or my Stamps' winning streak everytime I go to the game.... I would have to say your streak bud!

Great job with the analysis OzSome, but it is a simple game to predict.
The Stamps are much better if they want to be. It comes down to whether they want to play that way or not.
Realistically it doesn't matter how the Riders play because on their best day they aren't in the Stamps league.
It is time for the Stamps to step up against a weak opponent and take control of the division.

ROSTER UPDATES:
CALGARY - OL Jesse Newman is in.
Injuries: DL Derek Armstrong(arm), Alain Kashama(ankle), LB Tristan Black(leg), Lemarcus Rowell(knee), DB JR Ruffin(knee), Brandon Smith(knee), OL Jesse Newman(shoulder), WR Ken-Yon Rambo(knee-out for season), Ryan Thelwell(achilles-out for season).
SASKATCHEWAN - K/P Ryan Elschuk and R Johnny Quinn are in; R Weston Dressler and OL Nick Hutchins are out.
Injuries: LB Carlos Armour(leg), P Jamie Boreham(neck), R Weston Dresler(leg), OL Bobby Harris(knee), OL Jonathan St. Pierre(knee), OL Belton Johnson(quadriceps), OL Wayne Smith(achilles tendon), DB Chris McKenzie(hamstring), DB Leron Mitchell(groin), DL Kevin Scott(leg).
NOTABLE: SB Jeremaine Copeland is two yards shy of 1,000 yards plateau. Stamps QB Henry Burris has a 95.4 QB rating against the Riders over his career, his highest rating against any CFL team. Burris is also 61 yards shy of the 500 yards rushing this season. It would be the 4th time in his career that he reach that plateau.
A Riders win today clinches the season series with the Stampeders.
GAME TIME: 1:30 pm at McMahon Stadium
TV: TSN

For some reason I'm optimistic about the game today. I think the Stamps are due to break out of their slump and I don't think the Riders are all that good, at least not on the offensive side of the ball. I'm guessing 34-20 Stampeders.

Which basically means that if the Stamps want to host the West final, it is a must win game.

Nice looking drive here by the Stamps. I can't believe how many flags there have been in the game already.

If the Stamps win today, they have another game on the road with the Riders right? Do they have to win both to have a shot at hosting the West final?

I believe so because the first tie breaker is head to head. I'm going to double check that though.
