I Just want to say thank you!
I just want to express a huge thanks to the person in Mackenzie Towne (assuming Prestwick) that found my runaway dog last night and took him to the 24 hour hospital by Trail appliances.
Came home from the game, let the dog out to go pee on his tie out because we don't have a fence at the moment, this was at about 12:15 so me and my other dog go on a search for him, no dice. Around 12:45 I called the hospital to see if he had been brought there, he hadn't but I left the description. So I continue the search around prestwick calling his name as quiet as I can as it is 1AM, this time I am driving though. At 1:30 I get a call from the hospital to ask what his name is, they repeat it and saysI think we have your dog.
So I drive to the hospital to see if it was him and it was, some guy had found him and drove him in there even though it was 1:30AM. I am so thankful and I didn't know how to express it.
So if its someone on here or you are at a friends or families and they tell the story......
THANK YOU!!
Brian & Jake (the dog on the right in my sig)

Is taking a lost Dog to the hospital what you're supposed to do? I wouldn't have a clue, guess i'd call 311.
Glad you got him back

Don't you have your cell phone # on his tag? I've got mine on my dog and it's already solved the mystery of the missing dog twice. My little escape artist once got from the little park by by the river in Roxboro to mission road in 2 minutes flat. A bus driver pulled over, grabbed her, called my cell and that was that.
Then a few weeks later, she escaped my buddy's yard in braeside and got all the way to the condos by pizza hut in a matter of minutes. Again, someone grabbed her and called my cell.

I called 311 last night as well, after 10pm animal services is closed, so 311 said they advise people to hang onto the dog until the morning or take them to a 24hr hospital.

Yeah I have that but houdini slipped out of his collar, like he did softball camping when he was roaming the campground after busting through my tent, even though it is supposed to be a no slip collar and tighten when puled on.

Congrats on getting the dog back. We've had a few of those situations ourselves.
This weekend, I found a white pitbull on my front lawn. I went to get him, and the owners let him out with NO collar on at all. Turns out that he lives in my cul-de-sac, and I just chased him back into his own yard.
Come on peope...ALWAYS make sure your dog is carrying identification. Most dog owners will bend over backwards to keep your dog out of the pound...you just need to help us a bit (FKA, two collars is a perfect way to handle this - I have done it in the past).

An 80's joke... interesting... what it lacks in relevance it makes up for in nostalgia.

I remember years ago, when my boy (may he rest in peace) got out of our backyard. My dad and I kept making the rounds, trying to find him. We went to the parks we normally took him, called around all the kennels, etc, to find him. Nothing, no sign of him. After a week and a half, my dad sat me down and told me we had to realize he was not coming back. I cried myself to sleep that night. The next day, I woke up and went downstairs. My dog was sleeping on his doggie bed. He had returned in the middle of the night. It was a running joke for years any time we saw a dog out and about that looked similar to my dog, we assumed it was one of his many kids that he fathered on his week and a half extravaganza away from home.
Anyways, I am glad someone was nice and responsible enough to bring him to the hospital for you.
