Hot Off The Presses: 'Yotes acquire Lilja and Kuba

PHOENIX -- A valentine's day deal has seen the Phoenix Coyotes acquire Andreas Lilja and Filip Kuba from the Florida Panthers in exchange for Adrian Aucoin and Ruslan Salei.

GM Eric Olson had this to say about the deal, "We acquired youth, value, and talent as well as the stay-at-home defenseman in Lilja that we've been looking for all year."

"We are sad to see Adrian Aucoin leave Phoenix, he was a great player for us while he was here. We appreciate his contribution to the team."

"Ruslan Salei hasn't been with us as long but also performed excellently as a Coyote and we are thankful for his services."

"We are happy to welcome Andreas Lilja and Filip Kuba to the Coyotes and hope to see them in the lineup as soon as possible."

Doesn't Lilja brings a bit of bagage with him... due to the recent events overseas?

He's only accused. Plus there are many players with similar baggage.

Yeah, I think I'd have more concern with Lilja's pending UFA status than I would with his personal accusations. Besides him and Huselius are completely innocent, I'm 100% sure of it. :unsure:

The pending UFA status and his recent trouble with the law was enough for me to trade Lilja right away after just aquiring him. We are sad to see Kuba go but are very happy to get Aucoin!!!

Well Huselius was the director, and Lilja was the Camera man. Tallinder on the other hand was the star of the play, but was at risk to injury due to his role...
