Default Assassin's Creed and the Freemasons

So with the upcoming release of Assassin's Creed 2, I popped the original game into my 360 earlier in the week to refresh the story in my head.

I couldn't believe I didn't notice this before, but the symbol that the Hashsashuin use to identify themselves looks very similar to the Freemason's Square and Compasses.

Maybe I'm out on a limb, but I personally found the similarities striking. Especially given the secretive nature of the Masons themselves.

More likely a coincidence related to the similarity between the freemason symbol and the letter 'A', though probably not something the developers downplayed, if they ever noticed it.

And if the Freemasons are behind the flaming pile of turd that was Assassin's Creed, I am sorely disappointed in this supposedly 'omnipotent' cabal.

You didn't like it? I thoroughly enjoyed it. Visually beautiful. Found it very easy to immerse myself in the game.

I really liked the campaign, it was a story, rather than "go kill him for money".

Assassin's Creed missions were too repetitive and was easy to exploit so that you can kill an army pretty easily for as long as your fingers weren't getting tired.

The new goggles also do nothing.

Yeah, the first third of the game it was great. Then you realized that all the missions were EXACTLY THE SAME.

Could be with the symbol, or at least whoever designed it had it in mind.. I know when I want to make a logo or a name, I usually just look at what other people have done as inspiration; I have no creativity

Supposedly AC 2 has more diverse activities.

Interesting. I wonder if Robert Langdon is hidden somewhere in the game...
