Two men entered the zoo at about 1 a.m. on Monday and scaled the outer perimeter safety fence of the tiger enclosure, the Calgary Zoo said in a media statement.
The men did not enter the tiger exhibit but one of the individuals did approach its fencing and came "into contact with one of the tigers and sustained significant injuries to his arms," the zoo said.
That's a horrible story but Geez how much alcohol do you have to drink to think it's a good idea to mess with a tiger?

Calgary police and zoo officials continue to investigate a tiger attack at the zoo overnight.
Zoo officials say two men broke into the zoo by jumping a fence and got too close to the tiger enclosure.
One of the suspects, believed to be in his 20's, came in contact with a big cat and paramedics say he suffered a traumatic arm injury.
Police add the injury is so bad the man may lose his arm.
One time at the zoo we happened upon the tiger keeper in the shack scratching the big male with a 6-8 foot stick behind the ears. Even he, at the time said that this was as close as he gets, at least to that tiger, as it was born in the wild and still viewed us as lunch.
They're lucky. My wife went to one of those information sessions about the tigers and the keeper said that any wildlife that enters the cage is immediately killed. Birds are routinely killed by them.
Not a good move We were there last year when they brought out a big rabbit to feed the Tigers and the one was tearing the thing to shreds and white fur was flying everywhere as he was shaking his head from side to side with a death grip on the thing. I can only imagine what they do to bigger game....
