Default Avalanche - Leafs make blockbuster

To Avalanche
Pierre-Marc Bouchard (66)
Josh Harding (63)
Maxim Afinogenov (62)

To Leafs
Cristobal Huet (69)
David Moss (64)
Jared Boll (57)
400k

The rebuilding continues and this has high risk written all over it and the Avs make their 2nd move of the day. Many say Harding has potential to be a starter in the NHL but is behind a Venzia Nominated goalie in Backstrom. There were rumors that Harding was being shopped this off season, he is a RFA after this year and can hopefully be shopped to a team and do well.

Afinogenov was thrown in the deal in order for the salaries to work, I think he can bounce back this year. He is playing just over 17 mins a game for the Thrashers this year and has 1 assist in 3 games. Bouchard is an upgrade over Moss (debateable probably). Again this is a rebuilding move for the Avs and I hope it can work out. I was never a fan of Huet and he has really looked awful this year in Chicago being outplayed by Niemi (good waiver pickup btw Sandra)

I like this deal for the Laughs, Huet sucks right now but if he decides to play even at an average level the hawks will score enuf goal to get him the wins.

Harding will likely take another rating hit next summer due to not playing much at all this year.

Moss looked lost on the top line but still will maintain rating and Bouchard will likely stay the same. Plus maxim sucks, probably salary reason but he still sucks.

I'm gonna have to re-do the Risebrough and send it to Pat now but don't worry Pat, Punk will snatch it away from ya.

This is definitely a long-term deal. Huet has played like crap in Chicago and Niemi is definitely looking like the contender to take over the starting role. Harding is a good goalie but his ratings and the fact that he's stuck behind Backstrom won't help.

This deal helps Toronto out in the short-term as Moss and PMB have similarish ratings and they only need to send Harding...long-term is anybody's guess. The real way Pat wins this deal is if Harding gets traded, otherwise who knows. For right now, the Avs will have a tough time stopping pucks.

I like this for Toronto, everyone in the league knew he needed a goalie and somehow he got one at a good price. I think Pat should have pushed for Halak and Harding just to boost his chances of getting a #1 in return.

I like this deal for the Leafs as it gets them a true #1 for this season. This deal depends a lot on how much time Harding sees this season and whether or not Bouchard can shake his concussion symptoms. I like this deal a lot for the Pens who hold teh Av's 1st round pick!

Sucks for me I had the Laughs 1st rounder and after your Lundqvist deal with him, i had high hopes for that pick, but no more. Oh well, time to lowball the quacks to see if they have anything decent on their roster.

Issue here is that NHL teams don't neccessarily panic over a guy struggling a bit. Huet is an expensive CPHL player, but chances are at year end he played 55 games, won 35 of them and posted good enough numbers to still be a 70 or so rated goalie. Even the 3 goals that Huet gave up against the Flames weren't as stinky as the two Niemi gave up.

Anytime you downgrade your goalie though, you better have some type of plan for how you can recover from it. You can't always count on a talented young goalie being able to land and keep a starting gig.

Huet is a little bit of an enigma. Had a great start to his career, and got the contract to match. Then let his play slip a little. But, this year, he's a 69 OV player. So he'll either get me more wins than Halak, or he'll screw me.

I couldn't help but jump at the chance to upgrade my goaltending. I think if you don't look at COL's goalie situation now, it's a pretty fair deal, but it sucks not haveing a starting goalie between the pipes.

Atleast you can beat Vancouver tho, I'm living proof. (Sorry Mango).

Over/Under on Ravi contacting me about David Moss: 20.5 hours.
